Madonna announced today that she’ll perform a free concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday, May 4, to cap her blockbuster Celebration Tour.
The concert, staged at Rio’s Copacabana Beach in front of the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, “will be free of charge as a thank you to her fans for celebrating more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour,” a message on her website reads. The concert will be Madonna’s first show in Brazil since 2012.
No tickets are required for the event, with admission on a first come first serve basis the day of the event. The show will be broadcast live on TV Globo.
The tour launched in London last October with a six sold out shows at The O2. The tour has traveled across 14 countries.
The Celebration Tour continues tonight with the second of two shows in Dallas before making stops in Houston, Atlanta, Austin and others. The upcoming dates also include three nights in Miami at the Kaseya Center (April 6, 7 and 9) and five nights at Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City.
