Brad Garrett is not happy that his name was being used to promote a comedy show starring The Real Housewives of New Jersey personality Joe Gorga.
It turns out that everything was a scam and no show is taking place. A representative for Gorga tells Deadline, “It was coming from a fake Brad Garrett. Joe’s attorney was scammed. They even had signed contracts in place.”
Gorga’s representatives revealed that the Bravo star just found out about the scam today and “is very disappointed as he was looking forward to performing” in Vegas.
The rep for the reality star assures that “everyone who purchased tickets will be receiving their money back” and “Joe will not be doing a show in Las Vegas.”
The Everybody Loves Raymond alum had taken to Instagram to air his grievance at what he called a scam.
“ALERT!! This is NOT AN ACTUAL Show at my club and people are being scammed to buy tickets via a fake link,” Garrett said in his original post on the social media platform. “So @joeygorga, @jackynmarfuggi wtf?! No one knows who you folks are in the comedy world nor are you working at my club. Remove these ads immediately. Geez. And @catchnewjersey has nothing to do with this as well.”
Garrett would later revise his caption eliminating tagging Gorga and Marfuggi and adding, “So @catchnewjersey not sure how you put this show together but it wasn’t from us. I am not on Facebook. Or X. The Facebook BG or BGCC is an impostor collecting ticket funds for a non-existent show.”
The show being promoted says Gorga would be bringing his comedy show to Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at the MGM Grand District in Las Vegas on Sunday, Nov. 5. Garrett appears in the ad as a host with RHONJ co-star Frank Catania making an appearance along with Jaclyn Marfuggi. The show is allegedly scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Going to Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club website, Garrett himself has the venue booked for the show he hosts headlined by Karen Rontowski and featuring Joe Praino. The show runs from Nov. 3-5 and starts at 8:00 P.M.
Gorga’s comedy show website doesn’t feature any scheduled upcoming shows. The RHONJ star will be in Vegas this weekend for BravoCon alongside his fellow co-star Catania and his wife Melissa Gorga.
Although there are no upcoming shows on Gorga’s website, his Instagram page does have a link that takes users to a website that when you click on it takes you to a page that notes “tickets for this event are in high demand.”
The website says Gorga’s show will be at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club and ticket prices start at $150 each.
